What to Feed Your Pup

Wheatens can be sensitive to chicken, so getting the diet right matters. Pete uses Wholesomes Grain-Free Whitefish Meal & Potatoes Formula Dry Dog Food. It’s grain, gluten, and soy-free.

What About Treats? We don’t recommend treats or human food for Wheatens or Whoodles. Treats can cause digestive issues in these breeds, and honestly, they don’t need them.

How to Prepare Before Your Pup Arrives
Pete shares his top tips to help you get set up for success from day one.
A 36-inch puppy playpen is tall enough to prevent jumping and gives your pup a safe, controlled space
A properly sized crate matters because too much space, and they’ll treat one end like a bedroom and the other like a bathroom.
A second playpen for outside keeps them focused on going to the bathroom.
Hold off on the dog bed and use a towel instead. Puppies love to chew, and ingesting the stuffing can be dangerous.
These are the same setups Pete uses every day in Puppy Boot Camp. Get these in place before your pup arrives, and you’re already ahead of the game.
How We Deliver Your Pup
No matter where you live, we’ve got a delivery option that works for you. You can pick up in person, arrange ground delivery, book a flight nanny, or we can ship via airline.
When your pup travels by air, here’s what to expect:
- We use an airline-approved crate that’s one size larger than required, so your pup travels comfortably, and you can keep using it at home.
- All of your pup’s paperwork will be taped to the outside of the crate in a zip-lock bag. Don’t toss it!
- Inside, you’ll find health records, vet examination results, vaccination history, your bill of sale, and your pup’s microchip number.
- Important: Your pup will arrive microchipped but not registered. Make sure to register the chip right away.
- Bring the paperwork to your first vet visit. Pete usually includes a handwritten note with the next round of shots due, so you’re not guessing.
